Behold, the male alpaca, the most dominate and most focal component of the North American Alpaca industry. We have tremendous respect for our males and the opportunities they bring our way. We are extremely selective about those chosen to be breeders. Whether they are to breed here or somewhere else, only the very best of our production get the nod. This page provides a look at that "chosen few". Their presence here represents a very thorough screening process that acknowledges the genetics of some of the best to initiate from South America, along with the best we have developed here. During the summer of 2007 we made the very tough decision to discontinue the sale of outside breedings. Herd health and the lack of appropriate quarantine room were the two considerations we deliberated over. Because of that decision, the dispersal of our genetics will now be through sales. If you have an interest in a particular bloodline from us, then either the auctions or this venue is the means to secure that wish.
The Crescent Moon Ranch Males are (as Don Julio Barreda said) "Our Business Card" to the alpaca world. Therefore, only the best get to represent us.
Please enjoy your preview and, as always, if you have any questions...Please ask.
| Crescent Moon's Accoyo Neptune5-17-04 * White * 1096248 * $25,000 Sire: Caligula's Accoyo Poseidon Dam: Westwool's Accoyo Cabanna ARI Certificate Big boned and sturdy, Neptune is a stylish male with a beautiful head and
very heavy fleece. That heavy fleece is common to the Caligula line
offspring, along with the dramatic character which Neptune also
displays.

| Xanadu Tacna 9-12-02 * White * 820774 * $25,000 Sire: Peruvian Presidio Dam: XAN Chocolate Truffles
One look at Tacna and you'll see why we had to have him. The phenotype would tell you everything you need to know in most cases, but what isn't so apparent is what is in the genotype. Tacna's dam is dark brown/bay black. The upside to producing colored fleeces like Tacna's, while continuing with his style was irresistible. Heck, the truth be known if you produce white fleeces like Tacna's, you would be thrilled. We would like to thank David and Diane Colby of Xanadu Farms for the opportunity to trade for Tacna, and we should let you know that they are the first to sign up for a breeding to him. Histograms:

| Crescent Moon's Accoyo Barreda11/11/04 * Beige * 1213584 * $35,000
Sire: 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite 5057 IMPR98
Dam: Crescent Moon's Accoyo ShastinaSOLD!Thanks & Congratulations to Pam & Kevin Fife, Windy Hollow Alpacas! AND Ron & Cheryl Smith, Paintbrush Alpacas! Luxurious is a perfect way to define Barreda's fleece. Bright and
soft he embodies the key components that both Elite and Legacy are known
for. Now all of that excellence is complimented by the additional traits
that we love to see when assessing the huacaya alpaca`s fleece, lest we be
remised in acknowledging thus. So let's make all of this a little yummier
and take a look at the alpaca himself. Typey and compact, he is beautiful. With a stylish head, extraordinary coverage and rock solid bone capacity
he is a looker.

awesome pedigree, and mega size genotype. Considering how Elite and Legacy

Sire: 5Peruvian Chaccu 9063
Dam: Crescent Moon's Adorable Daisy (Legacy Daughter) Herdsire! Chaccoyo oozes it. Power and presence eventually yield
to a magnificent fleece. One loaded with density, character, fineness and
brightness. There is no mystery here for us. His mom is one of our first
and finest Legacy daughters and Chaccu is legend for good reason. Chaccoyo
is an incredible representation of what we look for in a herdsire. We
think you'll like him too! Histograms:

| Crescent Moon's Copper Legacy7-7-04 * Medium/Dark Fawn * 1156195 * $25,000 Sire: Accoyo Peruvian Legacy Dam: Copper Flame (Accoyo Camilio daughter) Copper Legacy carries on his family heritage well. ¾ Accoyo from
the lines of two of the most visible males the North American alpaca
industry has known (Legacy and Camilio). Copper Legacy is striking and
well deserving of such acclaim. His mother is a Champion from her days in
the ring. His full sister had an amazing show record as well and was sold
at the Parade of Champions. Copper Legacy would do well in any program,
but we would be especially excited to see him in a program of color. His
mother (dark fawn) and his grandmother (med fawn) have both produced dark
brown when bred to Chaccu (fawn). Imagine Copper Legacy bred to some
significant color. We sure can! Fiber photo. |
| Crescent Moon's Romeo8-28-02 * Light Fawn * 838535
Please inquire via phone 541-923-2285 or email!
Sire: Accoyo Peruvian Legacy * Dam: Juliet Co-owned with Nancy & Curt Gedney, HummingHerd Alpacas Romeo has the distinction of being called one of our finest Legacy
sons. His incredible show record pays tribute to all that he is. To stand
at the top of the class with 8 Championships, at the toughest shows in the
country, under numerous different judges, in radically different
competition, in both 50/50 and 60/40, testifies to that opening statement.
Now, as a sire producing blue ribbon offspring, his greatness is revealed
further. We could ramble on about his many attributes, but the judges
already have, in both he and his progeny. There is no further mystery to
Romeo. Fall in love with Romeo and watch your herd evolve for the better!

| Not a person comes onto the Crescent Moon property, who doesn't ask,

attributes. Just look at his parents! He's already a Champion. Take a

Sire: Achenar
Dam: Silver Ingot (Silver Gray) A black male with exemplary density and definitive fleece character is
hard to come by. Ares combines both traits along with good brightness and
long staple all piled onto his strong and well grown frame. His dam is one
of our gray female stars and she also happens to be the full sister to
Adonnis' mom, Bell Adonna. Do you breed for great quality Black and Gray? If you do, you may want to take a look at Ares.
